Our colorful nursing tank tops add a touch of personality to both your summer outfits and your winter layered looks. Available in warm brown or deep navy, they feature two side zippers for easy, discreet nursing.

What is a colored nursing tank top?

This is a sleeveless nursing tank top, available in colors that are more vibrant than white or black. It retains the simple cut of a classic tank top, with the addition of a zipper opening on each side of the chest for breastfeeding.

Color makes all the difference: a brown or navy tank top adds a touch of style to a simple outfit and pairs easily with jeans, beige pants, or a skirt. To see the full collection, check out our nursing tank tops.

What colors do you offer?

The collection currently offers two easy-to-wear shades:

  • the brown tank top—warm and natural—that pairs well with beige, ecru, and denim;
  • The navy tank top, a more classic style, offers a softer alternative to black.

These two colors can be worn year-round and pair well together. If you prefer lighter shades, check out our white nursing tank tops.

Why choose a nursing tank top over a regular tank top?

With a regular tank top, breastfeeding requires pulling the neckline down or pulling it back up, which stretches the fabric and exposes your stomach. The nursing tank top avoids all of that thanks to its side zippers.

You only open the side for breastfeeding; the rest of the tank top stays in place, and it keeps its shape wash after wash. It's more practical for everyday use and much more discreet in public.

How does the opening on a nursing tank top work?

Each tank top has two zippers, one on each side of the chest. To breastfeed, simply unzip the side you want: your baby has direct access to your breast without you having to remove or lift anything.

Once you're done nursing, zip it up with one hand. On colored fabric, the zippers blend in even better with the garment and go unnoticed.

How should you wear a colorful nursing tank top in the summer?

In the summer, a tank top can be worn on its own with denim shorts, a flowing skirt, or linen pants. Brown pairs very well with white and sand tones, while navy pairs well with red, white, or stripes.

Since it's sleeveless, it lets your skin breathe during hot weather, when holding your baby close keeps you warm. For more tips, read our article on discreet nursing tank tops for summer.

Can you wear a nursing tank top in the winter?

Yes, it actually makes an excellent first layer. Under a sweater or nursing cardigan, the tank top keeps your stomach covered when you open the top layer to breastfeed.

Since the zippers are in the same place as those on our sweaters and sweatshirts, you open both layers on the same side. For the outer layer, check out our zippered "Breastfeeding sweaters ."

What should you wear with a brown or navy tank top?

Brown goes well with natural colors: ecru, beige, camel, khaki, and light denim. Navy is even more versatile: it can replace black in all your outfits, giving them a softer look.

For an office outfit, add a jacket or an open blazer. For more color ideas, check out our colorful nursing clothes.

Is the nursing tank top discreet in public?

Yes. With a side zipper, only the side used for feeding opens: the stomach and back remain covered, and the cleavage isn't exposed. From the outside, all you see is a mom holding her baby.

A lightweight vest or an open shirt worn over it adds a little more privacy if you'd like, without getting in the way of the zipper.

What size should I choose?

Please note: These tank tops run small. We recommend choosing one size larger than your usual pre-pregnancy size.

You'll enjoy greater comfort around the bust—which is often larger while breastfeeding—and the tank top will remain comfortable to wear as a base layer. The size guide on the product page will help you check your measurements.

Can you wear a nursing tank top during pregnancy?

Yes, during the first and second trimesters, choose a size larger to allow room for your growing belly. It looks great under a shirt or an open cardigan.

That way, you'll already have it in your closet for those first feedings, and you can get used to the zippers before the baby arrives.

Can you continue to wear it after breastfeeding?

Yes. With the zippers closed, it's just another colored tank top that you can continue to wear on its own in the summer or as a layer in the winter.

Its timeless colors transcend seasons and trends: it's a staple that will remain in your wardrobe long after weaning.

How do you care for a colored tank top?

Wash it at 30°C on the delicate cycle, inside out with the zippers closed, along with similar colors to preserve the vibrancy of the brown or navy.

Air-dry it rather than using a dryer, and iron it on the reverse side at a low temperature if necessary—but never before the first wash.

How long does it take for the clothing to be shipped?

Clothing is shipped within 48 business hours. For items with custom embroidery, please allow up to about eight business days.

What is the return policy?

You have 14 days after receipt to request a refund for an item that does not meet your expectations; exchanges are not permitted. Personalized items with embroidery cannot be returned or refunded. Please contact our customer service team in advance at bonjour@23maiparis.com.
