Breastfeeding nightdress

Our Breastfeeding night dresses are designed for nighttime feedings: a single-piece, flowing, and comfortable garment with two side zippers that let you nurse in seconds—even when you’re half asleep. The comfort of a nightgown, the practicality of a nursing top.

What is a " Breastfeeding nightdress "?

This is a classic, long, flowing nightgown with two zipper openings on the sides of the chest. To breastfeed, there’s no need to lift or remove it—simply unzip the side you’re feeding from.

It's perfect for both sleeping and long days at home with a newborn. For a two-piece version, check out our 2-piece" Breastfeeding pyjamas " sets.

Why Choose a " Breastfeeding nightdress "?

Nights with a newborn are punctuated by feedings. A Breastfeeding nightdress makes your life easier:

  • quick access to the chest, without having to undress;
  • a loose-fitting cut that doesn't constrict the stomach or chest;
  • a one-piece design that you just slip on—nothing that rides up or slips down during the night;
  • a presentable outfit for receiving visitors at the maternity ward.

Fewer steps each time your baby wakes up means you and your baby can fall back asleep faster.

Nightgown or nursing pajamas: Which should you choose?

A nightgown is ideal if you like light, flowing clothing, if you sleep in a well-heated room, or if it’s summer. It doesn’t constrict the waist, which is especially nice after a C-section.

Pajamas cover the legs more, making them better suited for cold nights. Many moms have both types so they can switch between them depending on the season. For more help, read our article “Pajamas or Breastfeeding nightdress : How to Choose.”

What models do you offer?

The collection features a soft, timeless pink "Breastfeeding nightdress " and a leopard-print version for those who love prints. Both styles feature two side zippers.

The prices are reasonable, so you can buy two and always have a clean one on hand—a real plus when dealing with those little milk leaks during the first few weeks. For other prints, check out our leopard-Breastfeeding pyjamas .

How does the process of opening an " Breastfeeding nightdress " work?

Each nightgown has two zippers, one on each side of the chest. At night, you can unzip the side you're feeding from with just one hand, while holding your baby with the other arm.

Once you're done nursing, just zip it up and go right back to bed. No buttons to fumble with in the dark, no fabric to pull up.

Should you pack a " Breastfeeding nightdress " in your hospital bag?

Yes, it's one of the most useful items in your hospital bag. At the hospital, you'll be breastfeeding often, having visitors, and spending a lot of time lying down—so a loose-fitting, comfortable nightgown is ideal.

It doesn't constrict the abdomen, which is a relief after giving birth, and it makes the first few feedings easier. To help you pack your hospital bag, read our article on packing a hospital bag for winter.

How can you stay warm at night in a nightgown?

In the winter, keep a nursing cardigan or sweater within reach to drape over your shoulders while breastfeeding, and warm socks near the bed.

If you tend to feel cold, alternate with pajamas on the coldest nights. For more tips, read our article “Nighttime Breastfeeding: 10 Tips.”

Can you wear a " Breastfeeding nightdress " during pregnancy?

Yes. Its loose fit leaves plenty of room for your belly in the later stages of pregnancy: you can start wearing it in the third trimester, when nights become less comfortable.

That way, you'll already have it on hand for those first feedings. For other nightwear designed for pregnancy, check out our maternity pajamas.

What size should I choose?

Choose your usual pre-pregnancy size: the loose fit provides enough room for your postpartum bust and belly.

If you're unsure which size to choose, go with the larger one for more freedom of movement at night. The size guide on each product page will help you check your measurements.

Can you wear it after breastfeeding?

Yes. With the zippers closed, it's just like any other nightgown—one you'll continue to wear long after weaning.

It's still a comfortable nightgown for summer evenings and cozy weekends at home.

How do you maintain your Breastfeeding nightdress ?

Wash it at 30°C on the delicate cycle, inside out and with the zippers closed. Frequent washing is normal when breastfeeding at night: this gentle cycle helps preserve the fabric.

Lay it flat to dry instead of using a dryer, and iron it on the reverse side at a low temperature if necessary—but never before the first wash.

Can we give it as a gift?

Yes, it's a useful and much-appreciated baby gift —perfect to slip into a " Cart " for the new mom along with a little note. She'll be able to use it right from the first few days in the maternity ward.

For more ideas, check out our selection of gifts for new moms.
